Instagram is now offering business profiles and many are switching to the business account. What is the point of changing to a business account? Are there benefits for your business to switch to a business account? Let’s see!
The benefits of switching to a business account are:
You will get Instagram Insights, which will tell you who are followers are, when they are online, view insights for specific posts, see how people are engaging with the posts and generally how people are engaging with it. With a business profile, you will also see a “Contact” button at the top of the profile. You can have directions and contact information. Business Profiles will also be categorised in the same way that your Facebook Page was categorised, for example consulting being one category of your business. As many business, especially hotels, restaurants and other tourism-oriented businesses will have a location, Instagram now features a physical address, so when someone clicks on it, it will lead them to your location on a map. The best part of it all is that you can convert your Business Profile on Instagram back to a personal account if you wish to do so and this can be done at any time.
As you know that Instagram has been previously bought by Facebook, the two social media networks are now more connected than before. You have to know that once you’ve linked a Facebook Page to your Business Profile on Instagram, you will be able to only share your Instagram posts to Facebook through that page. That means that you won’t be able to share it to another Facebook profile or Facebook page. To share your Instagram posts, you need to convert back to a personal account. The other limitation is that your Business Profiles can’t be set to private. With this said, as a business, you should almost always want to keep your profile as public as possible.
Multiple Accounts in One
You might not already have an account for your business on Instagram, whether that be a Personal Account or Business Account, most people will find it tough to switch back and forth by logging out of one and logging in to the other, but you don’t have to do that anymore, because Instagram now has the “add account” feature. Similar to what you can find on Twitter. Instagram offers that as well. You just need to go to your main profile page and click on the settings. Scroll down to where you usually log out and you will see an “Add Account” button, so now you can switch back and forth between the two Instagram accounts.
